The Lindberg Big Red Rod or the Revell Big T ?

looks like pretty much the same basic design, parts, etc.

I have some vague memory of my brother building one of them in the early 60's. The one thing I remember most were the tires.
The Lindberg appears to have wider rear tires and that's the one visual memory I have. That and the smell of the rubber tires...

I would build it OOB if that helps with your comments.

thx much - Craig

The restored Revell/Monogram Big T is cool

Not sure what version that is there... the kit had been hacked up a bunch over the years but there was a restored version out a bit ago with the missing parts put back in. Much nicer than the Lindberg kit (not that you can't make that into a cool model either).

The one things I remember about the Big T,

was that those exhaust pipes were not full tubes. They were shaped more like a "U" with a mounting anchor on the inside. I guess they figured you wouldn't be picking up the model to see underneath, so you wouldn't notice them. I also remember having problems with the working steering, but I was just a kid back then. I never built the Lindberg kit though.

Plenty of places to add detail.
