Response to Best book on painting military figures???

I think he did one for Kalmbach along with the painting sections in his armor and diorama books. Some of the Verlinden Way books cover figure painting. There are some good online tutorials. Check out Missing Links. Osprey has some good new books that cover more modern paints and techniques.
