Plastic figure dioramas?

I've been painting quite a few 1/72nd Napoleonic plastic figures recently. It occurred to me that they would look good in a diorama, either based as a whole or on several bases. Has anyone seen this done before?

It would be possible to use either regular basing (3 ply wood) or a wooden 'plynth' similar to those used for trophys.
