Can anyone give me some tips on how to paint this machine gun, which is white metal and in 1/35 scale?
I'm particularly interested in how to paint the grip and stock. Black or wood brown? The rest of the gun I imagine can be painted matt black/black grey with graphite rubbed on it, but any help gratefully accepted.

The shoulder stock and hand grips can be wood but most seem to have been black plastic. At any rate, if they were wood they would be pretty dark anyway.

Can be black or wood tone

I have seen both on the MG-42, though the Black seems more prominent. Do a google search and you will get plenty of supporting pictures for either. I personally go with black grip and stock on the MG-42's I paint.
