Which brushes to buy for Figures

Hello, I'm new to figure painting, and I have a question about brushes. I've read in the Shep Paine book "How to Build Dioramas" and the book "How to Paint Realistic Military Figures" that I need to buy pure red sable brushes for painting. I stopped by Hobby Lobby, but couldn't find any. There were kolinsky sable, black sable, golden taklon, and sable/synthetic mix, but no pure red sable. I will be working in acrylics, so I was wondering what brushes do you think are appropriate, and where can I find them?

Will work fine

To be honest, any medium to fine quality sable hair brush will work fine. Art supply shops like Michaels, Pearl, etc. will sell "name brand" artists brushes in all the useful sizes. But you can do very well with medium quality "hobby shop" brushes. Floquil and Games Workshop have good reasonably priced brushes. Testors even has a couple in their Model Master series. Tamiya also makes some good brushes. Hobby type brushes will probably run you $5-$7.50 per brush. Art supply store brushes will be maybe double that if not more.

Most brands also have different grade brushes (cheaper and better)

Some easy to get brands I have sold and use are:

Floquil
Model Master
Loell LCB
Imex
Tamiya

I've used Citadel/Games Workshop brushes ("borrowed" from my son's stash) with Vallejo acrylics on figures, and have no complaints.
