I was wondering if anyone here knows of any company that creates any cartoon figures? i.e. The Simpson, Wallace & Gromit, Star Wars, etc. Please do share the info if anyone knows of any. TIA.
Polar Lights did a Homer Simpson car, along with the Jetson's car, Scooby Doo Mystery Machine, and some comic style Batman cars/boats/motorcycles.
MPC did a Beatles Yellow Submarine, that was reissued by AMT about 10 years ago. MPC did a couple kits in the ealry 70s from the Disney Robin Hood cartoon. I had one with Prince John's carriage. MPC also did some models like the Pirates of the Caribbean skeletons and Disney Haunted Mansion. There used to be a kit of the Banana Splits Buggy too. AMT did a few Star Wars kits based on a cartoon spin off. AMT did a bigfoot/sasquatch that was very cartoony.
Revell did a few Dr. Seuss kits wayyyyyyy back. In the late 60s they did a Snoopy Sopwith Camel.
Aurora did a lot of comic characters like Superman, Batman, etc. Polar Lights reworked a few of those (in different scales) like an enlarged Spider Man, Captain America and Hulk.
Toybiz has/had some nice small comic character kits. They do Hulk, Spiderman, Ghost Rider, Storm, Captain America etc.
Moebius has repopped the Aurora Voyager from the Fantastic Voyage cartoon.
Airfix does Shaun the Sheep and Wallace and Grommet kits, along with Dr. Who (not a cartoon but cool!).
In the way of life imitating art, a cartoon show was formed around the old Hawk/Testors Weird-Oh's models...
Revell has a snap together Natuilus sub from a cartoon version of 20,000 Leagues under the Sea.
As a kid I remember a big toy/model of Charlie brown. He was molded in brown colored styrofoam, and you covered the figure with colored modelling clay. Sort of like a 3D paint by number.
There are some resin figures based on the Heavy Metal and old Lord of the Rings cartoons.
All the Bandai, Aoshima, etc. kits from Gundam, Patlabor, Space Cruiser Yamato, etc. Thousands of kits there.
Bandai, Imai, etc. did kits of the pupetoon shows like Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, etc.
Bandai also did Battle of the Planets/Gotchaman kits, which were also sold by Entex in the US.
There is a range of resin '54mm' figures of the Asterix comics characters, and (not cartoon, but...) there is a new range of the 'Dad's Army' figures in 54mm.
