Series 77

February 17 2009, 8:56 AM

Excellent work, buddy. I must have 30 of those figures. I used to speak with Olive, the wife of the guy that did the main work. They even made me the last 90mm of a Zouve since I had purchased so many figures over the years. Not sure if they are still in the business. I heard the man contracted some sort of lead related illness. Hope I am wrong on that note.
Some figures had stunted legs, but the detail was superb. One of my best is the Custer trooper loading his carbine. I still have some of the old b&w catalogs which were always a treat to get, plus some of those cool single sheet update flyers.
Nice work on the pilot figure and the base is killer.

Sadly

Pat Bird passed away a few months ago. Pat and Ollie were WONDERFUL people.
On a good note, Burl Burlingame has the masters, but.... (I will let Burl chime in.....)

A good friend will be there to bail you out of jail in the morning. A great friend will be sitting next to you, asking "how did we get caught?"

...we don't have the masters, but we do have most of the molds. Getting close to recasting. I melted metal in the garage yesterday!

Pat Bird RIP

Too bad, he was a talented gentleman. I spoke with him a few times way back in the early 80s. Olive was also very nice.
