Response to Airplane Ashtray Stand
Essex Class that is.. It's one that my grandfather had. He worked at the Shipyard building the Ticonderoga during WW2. It's solid cast aluminum.

I used to play with this thing all the time as a kid.. It really slides easily over an imaginary ocean of carpet.... It was kind of hard launching and trapping aircraft with flight deck so low though... wink.gif My grandmother gave it to me a couple of years ago. She died last year about this time. It will stay in my collection until I die...
