out of the area, EQT is capping wells because the price is too low. Halliburton is moving a lot of it operations to oil wells, of which we don't have a lot of around here. The thing that gets me is that they sprung this move on these guys. TWO days to decide if you want to pull up stakes (some had been working at the same camp for 20, 25, and 30 years) or have to start working two weeks on, one week off....

I don't know exactly what the deal with the coal company was yet. This area has been mined for coal going on 150 years so there isn't much left that isn't so deep that it cost more to get to than it's worth. Between the UMWA jumping on the backs of smaller coal companies and basically running them out of business and the graduate depletion of easy access coal, it's been slowly going downhill since the boom of the 70's...
