the nuetrality patrol out of iceland...then to pearl for 6 months...they were sent back to the north atlantic to help chase the tirpitz [even though they couldn't fire because america was nuetral]and he was in the panama canal dec 7 just missing it...the idaho was one of 3 battlewagons that survived and he had been tied up there on battleship row just a couple weeks before...then they were turned right around to bolster the pacific fleet and back to pearl then took part in coral sea and midway...our dads paths may have well crossed at pearl especially
