Reviewing the local obit section this morning, I noticed that at least six WWII vets were honored with lengthy obituary articles. Their accomplishments ranged from an engineer in CBI, a RAF mechanic who emmigrated to the US, to a GI who came ashore at Normandy. Off in the corner was a short obit topped with a photo of a gentleman in Marine dress blues. Time, date and location of funeral home, next of kin. No life history, except: one sentence noted that he served in WWII and Korea as a Marine Raider and fought in several campaigns.

They don't call them the greatest generation for nothing! Thank you vets!
