I was gluing stuff together, while watching my five year old daughter working

away at her craft table the other day. She had her Lego out, and I noticed that she rarely slaps the blocks together. I watch her pondering for a few minutes, then put a couple of pieces on then, pause again. She takes parts off, turns her little project around, then changes pieces. She often works in sub assemblies too. I find that she'll leave something for a couple of days then get back to it. I find her sketching houses out, once in a while, before she starts attaching blocks. It didn't occur to me that this approach was a bit different for a five year old, until I saw here building stuff among her class mates in preschool. Looking forward to see if this interest in building lasts. I find how meticulous she is with her work, fascinating.
