Hello:

I've gotten into woodworking and I've made a nice blanket chest of my own design. However, just two days ago I discovered the folk art of Pennsylvania Dutch dowry chests.

I really like this genre and I want to make a chest like the first one in the link with two unicorns on the sides. There's another with unicorns in the center. Are there any stencils for these patterns?

For those of you in Pennsylvania, I really admire your state's craftsmanship. However, I am unfamiliar with any symbolism that might be attached to these chests' decorations. I simply figure I'm in a town of German origin and some folks might like having chests like these too.

Thank you! happy.gif
