Response to POLL: When buying a new car, what is the 1st thing you
for camping/skiing/offroading, etc.

In general, for me, reputation (so Jpn or Ger), performance/usefulness (which could mean MPG, 0-60 times, roadholding, offroad perf/ground clearance, haul space, gas tank size, etc, etc, etc), road feel, looks, price. Resale not a factor cuz I hang onto my things.

It would be nice too if I could poss work on it myself (tune up, diagnostic, etc) esp if in the boonies, but nowadays that's prob asking too much unless one has a computer science degree from MIT.
