Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair was killed in a shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, authorities said Saturday. Police said they found McNair and a woman shot to death in a Nashville residence. A law enforcement source close to the investigation said the woman is McNair's girlfriend.

and his wife is distraught.
His friend entered the condo, saw where the bodies were, and went to another room, returned then finally noticed them dead. He has poor situational awareness, or was on something.
I would say he crossed someone and it was payback.
Dumb ass pro athletes get themselves in situations and in company of riff raff with predictable outcomes. How many pros have been killed recently?
Was this the guy that played for Philadelphia and Limbaugh lambasted way back?
You may want to do a little checking before casting aspersions. While the woman involved may indeed have been his girlfriend, I don't know that has been determined yet.
As for his having been a dumb ass, again, not really clear. Unlike many who find themselves in the news for the wrong reasons, Steve McNair seemed to be one who was only mentioned for his on field exploits. I'm not exactly a Titans fan, but I always liked watching the man play football.
How about you wait for the facts of the situation to be determined before you lump him in with guys who would seem to be verified idiots like Vick and Burress?
And no, he wasn't the guy Limbaugh dumped on. That was Donovan McNabb.
I'd say he's spot on in his assesment. David nor I are judges. We are free to form opinions from whatever information is presented to us. From what is presented (bot people being shot in the head), I'd say that yeah, somebody was VERY unhappy with him. Being alone with a girl barely HALF his age, let alone having HER drunken ass driving HIM around (oops, sorry, not drunk- just high)is a little odd.

If I turn out to be wrong then I apologize in advance to whom this may offend.
The news this morning said he had multiple gunshot wounds and one in the head. The 20 year old girl had one shot to the head. There was a gun found nearby.
Sounds to me his 20 year old girlfriend was upset at him for something and shot him then turned the pistola to her own head and took her life as well.
I will wait for this to turn up on Discover ID Channel.

....and Steve didn't. I'm guessing, based on her name, that she is descended from another culture, perhaps over Mideast way, and they often take promises of that nature very seriously when they're not kept!
