Two Old Blu-ray Movies for the SciFi Collection

April 3 2012, 12:39 AM

I'm always happy when somebody finds a couple of Blu-rays they enjoy. I'm hoping for a price drop on Super 8. BATTLE LOS ANGELES is selling locally for a quite reasonable price with an extra $5.00 discount if you trade in an old DVD. I hope to pick it up in a week or two.

In the meantime, I've added a couple of Classic sci-fi movies to my Blu-ray collection. First, the legendary PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE. Released by Legend Films, this is a very nice Blu-ray using an excellent print. While I don't approve of the practice, Legend includes a colorized version as well. It includes a commentary by Mike Nelson of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and a few other extras.

Next up is the rarely seen ZAAT. A disgruntled scientist is fired from a government lab because he has an idea to make a race of human/fish warriors. Boy, you just KNOW that's not a good idea! Audio commentary, outtakes, lotsa' goodies.

I saw District 9 at Wally world the other day for less than $8.00.
