Okay, I really dug "Rolling in the Deep" the first six or eight thousand times I heard it, but I've pretty much had my fill. But now the local radio stations have four or five different Adele songs (each more depressing than the last) on "heavy rotation" and it's almost impossible to avoid hearing every one of them five or six times a day. Enough! Would someone please give this poor woman a Prozac prescription?
Also getting burned out on Katie Perry. And that horrible, horrible "Moves Like Jagger" song. What heinous sin did I commit in a previous life to have to listen to that thing?

I have Sirius (house/car) and the many stations there are....

narrow focus for the most part, so the two gals don't get play on the ones I listen to.
I usually only see/hear them on the late night chat shows (Letterman, etc), so say just 2-3 times a year. Both have been featured on 60 Mins in the past 6-12 months. Both have interesting stories.
Amen Brother... There are thousands of streaming audio programs.

But then if an FM is one's only choice, then it is a self-inflicted wound.

Have never heard her music, not even a snippet.
Only knowledge I have of her is a stray news
headline, or reading a thread like this.
I've pretty much isolated myself from most modern
popular culture. I got an ipod, loaded it with
about 1300 songs from back in the day, and that's
what I listen to.
Nope Kal. I don't know who any of them are, I don't watch LL or those other

dipoids that are famous for just being famous like the Kardashians or whatever. I have seen just enough of most of them to realize that there is a a He** on Earth and it is being near any of them. I like old Rock & Roll like I have on now, and I enjoy 90s grunge from one ex-girlfriend and I like C & W from another ex-girlfriend, so I find plenty of music worth listening to. The Beatles to 9 inch Nails. And I can't say I've heard a single song from any of those people in this discussion. Nor am I interested in hearing them.

I pretty much stick to "Watercolors" on XM when in the car...

Sometimes 50's-60's (or Classic Vinyl when I get a wild hair). But I can always punch in the playlist and listen to my own stuff - that way, I KNOW I'll like it.
This is Gotye, an Aussie singer with "Someone That I Used to Know" a duet sung with a kiwi vocalist, Kimbra.
It's doing Ok and has just been selected for an upcoming "Glee" episode. (the Song's good, But I Hate the show...)
Note: Video May be considered as a bit ****. (if you're VERY prudish..)
The song itself reminds me of the Peter Gabriel/Kate Bush Duet "Don't Give Up" but its
shorter and just as Melancholy. (and Gotye sounds a lot like Peter G as well...!)
Old Reptile Dude - there's a lot more music out there than AM top 40.

Reggae, hawaiian, blues, many types of jazz, electronica of all kinds, world music, classical. Time to stop listening to that kid's stuff - you ain't 17 anymore.
There's hundreds of (internet) radio stations listed in iTunes. Many more on Shoutcast.

If liking Adele means one is 17, then it confirms what my wife thinks...

They all seem to be whining and not singing. There are a few exceptions.
My Daughter (almost 18) likes stuff that makes me want to vomit. I did it to my parents and now it happened to me. Ahh the circle of life.
As long as I have my Megadeth, Metallica, Pantera, Anthrax, Sabbath, etc. CD's in the car it is a nice drive
