Any one heard/read anything? I know it is still too early in NTSB/FAA investigation for an "official" report, but has a "preliminary" determination been made? A sad loss, whatever the reason. I have seen him perform multiple times in multiple aircraft at many an airshow through out the years.
His accident has all of the ear marks of an engine failure just after lift off. We'll know for sure when NTSB releases their report. Definitely a sad loss.
If it weren't for folks like Howard, there would be near as many warbirds flying today. The only good thing about this is that he went out doing what he loved in an airplane that he loved.
CAVU(ceiling and visiblity unlimited) Howard.
Preliminary report says he was performing a half cuban 8 on take off and something didnt go right. Go to www.warbirdalley.com click on news, then click go to latest month. There is a link to the preliminary report.
