Billboard.com has learned that Elton John has co-written an original song, "Peter's Song," for the Miramax fantasy film "J.M. Barrie's Neverland." John wrote the song with longtime songwriting collaborator Bernie Taupin. It is unclear if the song, which John performs, will appear on a soundtrack, but it is understood that it does appear in the film.

John and Taupin most recently teamed up for the Golden Globe-nominated song "The Heart of Every Girl" from the 2003 Columbia Pictures drama "Mona Lisa Smile." "J.M. Barrie's Neverland," which opens Oct. 22 in U.S. theaters, stars Johnny Depp as James "J.M." Barrie, the author of "Peter Pan."
