First and foremost, I think we should all thank Saif for taking the initiative and starting this...so kudos to you my good man.
Having ran the odd sports pool in my day, I will be running with this and keeping track of how everyone is doing throughout the remainder of the World Cup (God I hate those horns!). I will try to update the results everyday (but on occasion the people who pay Coalde in the real world can be demanding). Everyone is welcome to participate and side bets are highly recommended (Germ_mark has already won Saif's challenge). So the results so far are as follows...
Knockout Phase rules
By the way...due to the massive time gap between the end of the group phase and the start of the knock out phase (that was sarcasm by the way), I have to create the rules now.
1. I will strictly enforce the "last edit time versus kickoff time" rule...meaning if your post or edit is after kickoff time you will be assessed an incorrect prediction or your first result will be ignored (I'll let you know)
2. Public side bets amongst WAFF members is highly encouraged
3. Trash talking amongst various nationalities of WAFF members is also highly encouraged
The "WAFF 2010 Ruler of the World Cup" award rules are as follows...(Destan can you come up with a spiffy graphic for winner's sig for that?)
1. Based primarily upon accuracy of predictions.
2. Minimum of 12 predictions.
3. Bonus 5% to accuracy to be awarded for every 10 games (rounded down) an individual predicts (to encourage early participation...see Tezel there is hope for you yet). At time of this writing there are 16 group games and 16 KO games left...that's 15% boys, so get those predictions in right away!
Note I will track the 'award' percentage as a separate value for all purists out there...highest pure percentage gets the "Vegas here I come!" award (Destan, ditto on this one).
Also note, members of management are not eligible for any of the awards (pooh for me)...but their participation (side bets and trash talking) is highly encouraged.
Predict who will winning each game for 11th June - 16th June. If you will get 6 out of 16 correct, I will add whichever photo you will want in my signature except not religos insult. Do not try to cheat I will see if youre post say edited by after game is all ready being over.

Well I won't bet against my own country, but I'm totally on the fence in the game between Uruguay vs. Ghana. Uruguay have a superior team on paper, but this Ghanian team is young and doesn't suffer from the same star studded arrogance that has plauged other African countries. With an entire continent behind them Ghana might just beat Uruguay, I hope I'm wrong though.
Also predict Argentina to beat Germany and Spain to squeeze past Paraguay.

My feelings are for Ghana today, but I still think Uruguay will beat them.
The Way I see it totally differend teams with differend tactics and attitudes are meeting each other today, while Ghana definately knows it has the support of Africa behind them Uruguay may be pushed by the best result they produced since a long time.

Man Saif you need to find a signature that will actually get under the skin of Coalde LOL, something like Shariah Law for Canada or something, not something promoting interracial sex...that might get under notan's skin not regular white joes.
Your singature is not being funny because the man is being fat and ugly. Also Shariah signature for Colade probaly he will not care about that but most whites are being jealous when they see white woman with blacks because it is being very common.

White people besides uber redneck klansmen have no problem with seeing white women with black men. That is the largest interracial grouping in the US and it is a regular sight everywhere even in the Southern countryside.

Destan is a volunteer...and I suspect he has a real life too, I try to be mindful of that.
Also there's no real way we can force someone to include something in their sig, nor would we wish to. Of course if there is a bet, well it is on the participant's honour to live up to it...as I believe Saif and my signature demonstrate.

Just a note Brazilpride, Joon, Eric and Beryoza are not eligible for any awards...there is a 12 pick minimum to qualify for the awards. I implemented that in the beginning to keep people from showing up at the last moment and winning...but I am glad such an esteemed bunch of long time WAFF members are getting in the spirit.
Any thoughts as to also counting the order for correct and incorrect? In effect we would be double counting the semi-final and final results...

By the way a few things...all sig dimension rules (i.e. 800x600) rules still apply. I have been thinking about the participation award, which admittedly was done tongue in cheek initially, however I will be chatting with Destan about a more structured award system for participation, so don't get too attached to that gold star...
By the way the next thing pool will likely be this years NFL season...my apologies to our European posters. However any suggestions regarding a European equivalent would be appreciated.

By the way you can easily resize the award images to fit into your sig better by adding the height or width variable to the image tag in your sig...avec so...

Saif, we all have to make compromises in life...so ensure your signature and all of it's elements fit within an 800x600 box. You figured out how to create your entire signature on your own, so I have no doubt you can figure it out.
