Before battle of the bands all the bands were brought into a room and explained how the competition would be judged and marked. Semmingly, this marking system was very important.and it was made clear to the bands this was the system being used
How many people think its fair that that marking system wasnt used at all without giving the bands notice?????
Post your comments here.... or maybe the hoodlums should have a web poll to find out who thinks it was fair
coz i think its a load of shite.

Lord i thought the marking thingy was used.If it was used it would of been a good idea to tell the bands what they got if they wanted to know. That way they could see where they're crap or not as the case may have it.oh yeah have to say fullyloaded play well.nice job on the drummin shahz, nearly let that stick go there tho,but pulled it back like a drummer always does.

We (Fortress Falls) played at battle of the bands and thought the marking scheme was really fair. Well it would have been if it was used. Fair enough, Global Assault rocked big time but they should have used the marking scheme and showed each band their results at the end. What was the point in telling us all one thing and doing another. Maybe next time each band should demand that the results are given to them after the competition, that way the results can be justified! oh and before i forget FORTRESS FALLS ROCK!!!!!!!!! Watch this space!

The marking system was used. The scores were totted up for each band and, as a result, Global Assault were given first place. That's the way these things work. Each judge had individually given Global Assault first place so it was pretty straight-forward.
Also, the score cards were not given out to the bands at the end because the organsers had previously seen 'Battle of the Bands' competitions where placings were read out from last to first place - and it can be pretty soul-destroying for any band (whether young or old) to see themselves in fifth position in a bands competition.
Finally, the results are not indicitive of a band's future potential, merely how well they performed on the day. In the eyes of the judges, Global Assault were the best performers on the day overall with impressive original material as well as solid cover versions but that doesn't mean they are the best band and all of the other acts that performed on the day have huge future potential.

That last e-mail was not from me but it said everything that I wanted to say on the matter. I deliberately stayed out of the discussion till now and now that the subject is put straight hopefully that'll be the end of it. If the Beltons, who write music closer to the Beach boys than metal tracks can put Global Assault at the top of their list then it's pretty indicitive of who was best on the day. It doesn't matter who was second third or fourth or wherever what matters is the bands got a good live experience in front of a decent crowd and on a nice big stage and hopefully it'll help develop the talents of each band. That's that then hopefully.
