Off to CA - vacation

Well all.  I'm off to CA tomorrow early to enjoy the sunshine and visit my sister.  My HINO has the kids for 6 nights and 5 days.  Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!  He has never had them more than 1 night by himself before and now he gets to do therapy, counseling, Tae Kwon Do (twice), dropping one off and picking up from summer school etc.  I'm hoping he will keep his patience.  He had the nerve to tell me that 2 1/2 hours a day is too much Nintendo/TV time for the boys.  Now on a school day I would have to agree with that but not in the summer when they are home all day.   I split it up so they are only doing 1 hour two times and a half hour the next.  He is a person who would have let them do it nearly all day when he was living here so he could play computer games and stare at the TV and now he's telling me I give them too much time.  I have been fighting with them all week only giving them that much time.  I told him to tell me if he thought that was too much time after he had them for 6 days.  LOL!  My special needs guy is a great kid but does tend to drive you a little nuts if he isn't busy because to talk to him you have to constantly look at him since he's a signer so forget about getting anything else done.  When I'm cooking he wants me to look at him constantly and while I love to show him I want to communicate with him, it is hard all day long especially when I have my hands full or dirty.

Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful week and I'll drink lots of Pina Colada's/Margaritas for everyone lol!  I'm in some serious need of this vacation.

Have a fantastic time and don't worry about the kids. They will survive even if your H doesn't. LOL

We will be waiting to hear how he handles this. When you get back maybe you should tell him that you are considering joint custody and possibly giving him full custody. Just joking of course but could you picture his face? This is going to be one heck of an eye opener.

Have a blast Charlie!!!

Charlie, have fun!! I'll be celebrating my lovely grandaughters 1st Birthday on Sunday!!

Chris, like you, I'm travelling next weekend. We check into our timeshare on Friday for the week, then on Sunday, I leave for Birmingham, Alabama to do two self defense seminars at the American Council for the Blind Annual Convention.

Alabama in July... Who schedules these thing?

LOL re convention scheduling.

The show for my industry now rotates among Orlando, Las Vegas, and New Orleans...all good places to visit every now and then. But the show's usually at the end of July. Ever been out on Bourbon Street at night in July? Yuck.

Have fun in Sweet Home Alabama.

Chris.

Chris, you asked, "Ever been out on Bourbon Street at night in July? Yuck."

Not much better at the end of June, buddy. Talked to my friend and fellow blindie who lives there yesterday. At 6 am, it was 83 degrees and 97% humidity, with high temps expected at 94 with 100% humidity!

This is why we scheduled our Foundation's conference in New Orleans for the last weekend of March. Temps were low to mid-70's, which made the constant humidity tolerable.

My other big speaking engagement is going to be in Chicago... In mid-August. The conference is being brought to you by the same brain trusts that scheduled their last one in mid-August... In Orlando!

California, Here I Come...

Hey Charlie!

I don't know where you are going to in the land of fruits and nuts, but email me if you are going to be in the San Francisco area. I am a pretty able tour guide. We are having really beautiful weather right now - no fog this morning and highs in the 70's today. It is supposed to last all weekend.

Have fun, no matter where you go. (After all, California is a state of mind, LOL)

Misha

Thanks but we are not real close to you :>)  We have been in Lemoore.

Everyone

I've been having a great time.  Lots of swimming in their pool, hot tubbing, laying out, and plenty of Margarita's.  I've really needed this!

The plane trip in was neat but took all day since I had a few layovers.  I got to ride in my sister and brother-in-laws plane on the way in and it was really a lot of fun.  We'll do it again tomorrow when I leave.  Other than that not a whole lot going on but I've enjoyed it.  My nieces have been torturing me in the pool daily and they are really funny.  I've missed them.  They used to live in our area but will be back hopefully next June.

Everyone have a great week!

Charlie
