Chasing Phoenix

The Mic:Where can people access your music on the web?
myspace. com/chasedean, Itunes, Rapsody, Amazon.

The Mic:Who writes and produces all the material for
the band?
I do(Chase Dean). My brother Brett Tutor co writes some of the songs also.

The Mic:The band played in front of or with any acts
our readers would
know from the Mainstream?
Honeybrowne from Austin,Tx. They had a hit out on the radio called Texas Angel.

The Mic:Any embarrassing moments on stage?
Yes, the other night my guitar tech handed me a guitar mid way through the set that one string that was horribly out of tune. Needless to say i was not very happy about it ha ha ha. it is funny to think about now though.

My infuences are Incubus, Dave Matthew, Led Zepplin, Sublime, Third eye Blind.

I found my drummer Kyle Ortiz about three years ago because we were both from the same high school in Austin. we soon found out that we share the same passions with music. For example we dont ever like to play a song the same way so we are both very open to each others ideas. That creates a fun and fresh laid back enviornment for both of us.

My Musical background is basicly non existant. Nobody in my family did anything with music before me. I learned how to play guitar from tabs on the internet and i have never had a vocal lesson before. I started singing at open mics after i felt i was a good enough guitar player and **** hit the fan from there and it seems like the next month i had and band and was making money.

The main reason for playing my music is express a sense of freedom. to people who work a normal job day in and out. I feel like i was put on this earth to write songs and sing them for people. When people are at my show i want to create a relaxed yet inspiring enviornment.

I could care less about file swapping. I am not doing this to sell CDS. I am doing this for people to come out to my show and have a killer time.

What i do put simply is this...... I find the best of what we have experimented in all of live shows and i arrange it in such a way that creates an undeniable emotion. Some times the emotion is happy and sometimes its dark. I think that proccess could be practiced in many different areas of work.

So far we have built up quite a buzz for ourselves locally. that is why we are going to be a national act for the next few years. Not to mention i love to travel ha ha ha ha.

The farthest will be this summer when i do my Hawaiian Island Tour this summer in june and july.

The Tune on the CD i am most proud of is Scotch on the Rocks because it is always changing. Kyle and i have loved playing multiple styles of music and it touches our favorite one which is Jazz.

ha ha ha ha I dont think anyone know the answer to that question. if you find out let me know.

Because dudes in porn have big weiners, so all the blood is in their small head and there is none left to run their brain.

Kung Fu for rappers is like Road House for truckers.

The order of bands would go, Chasing Phoenix, Dave Matthews, Incubus, and Led Zepplin.
