Effigy of Thought

Band:
The Mic: What got this band together and started in
this business?
Well, my broseph and I started jamming along time ago. we eventually decided to write set songs instead of the normal "jazz" we used to do. After that we realized that we should get a vocalist, that's when Casey came into the mix.

The Mic:Who writes and produces all the material for
the band?
We all have a say in what goes into a song. We are a band, not individuals.

The Mic:The band played in front of or with any acts
our readers would
know from the Mainstream?
We've played mainly with local acts such as: Saints of Infamy, Confined in Flesh, Hester Prynne, Sanguine, Livid Atrocity, Martyr Society, Living Across the Sea, Matt K. feat. Dem Deep Creek Boy and numerous others.

The Mic:Where can people access your music on the web?
..
We also have a few tunes up on www. ourstage. com.

The Mic:Any embarrassing moments on stage?
Just the normal mistakes that most bands make.

The Mic:Any good stories you want to tell us?
Scottish accents make for a much more entertaining ride home.

The Mic:Who is the bands musical influence?
There at least seven hundred million. Origin is definitely a big one, along with Hate Eternal, Meshuggah, Brain Drill, Beneath The Massacre, The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza and many many others.

The Mic:How did the band get together?
I'm lazy, refer to question 1.

The Mic:What is your musical background like?
All of us have pretty much grown up with metal. Whether it be Metallica, Megadeth or anything of the like, we have always listen to metal in some form.

The Mic:Any other members in your family that are
musicians?
My Dad played Bass and Guitar for awhile.

The Mic:What is the TOP reason why you want to play
music?
Pleasure.

what's your stance on file swapping?
Indifferent. I'm glad if people want to be listening to us in the first place.

what is the process of making a cd?
Lots and lots of work. Recording is one of the most stressful things I can think of. Preparing the artwork and layout are equally as annoying.

how do you get the word out about your music?
Any normal way I suppose. Word of mouth, playing shows, the glorious myspace, flyers and anything of the like.

how is your local response to your music?
Usually pretty pathetic, we live where country is the norm and most of the attendance barely knows what metal is. "All they do is scream, how can I relate to that??!?!." "They don't sing about getting drunk and beating their wife, LYKE OMGGG! I DON'T GET IT!!!" That sort of thing.

what is the furthest you have traveled for a gig?
About 100 miles I believe, nothing too far, we work too much for that, we will be going all over the U.S. summer though.

What tune on the cd are you most proud of?
Probably "Br0000tal." It seems to have the most density and is usually one of the most fun ones to play.

Now let's break away from the tradtional band questions you get asked all the time...Let's have some fun...

1. Why do HOT chicks date ugly dudes?
So she can demean him and take advantage of him, and no, not in a sexual fashion. Good thing I'm the most beautiful man ever. Goodness I'm sexy.

2. Why are all guys in porn movies Douche bags?
Because they're ****in' HAWTTT!!!

3. When Rappers do interviews on TV, why do they always have a wall of Kung Fu movies behind them?
Haha, because all Rappers apparently aspire to be Asian in way or another. Perhaps?

4. If a billionaire would come to your band and say you could play with any band..living, dead, broke up,etc.
*Who do you play with 3 bands one has to be your band...
and
*Who opens and who closes?
EOT
ORIGIN
****IN' SLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for being with us today and you can catch these guys on
