T.R.N.C. Police Ask Citizens To Call Police If Greek Cypriots Harass Themselves

LEFKOSA - TRNC Security Directorate called on Tuesday the citizens to be calm and call the police immediately if Greek Cypriots who cross into TRNC harass them.
Police said that this was important for the national security of TRNC.
Issuing a written statement, TRNC police stated that the procedure that was valid for Greek Cypriot citizens during their stay in TRNC was the same with the one that was applied to all persons living within the borders of TRNC. TRNC Security Directorate said it was in full charge for 24 hours a day to ensure the security of the citizens.
''Some Greek Cypriots who crossed into TRNC broke the doors of the houses or opened the doors by force when the owners of the houses were not inside, and they entered inside the houses, stole some goods from the houses, and harassed our citizens telling them that they came to see their houses,'' it was noted.
''TRNC Security Directorate treats equally everybody who commit crime within the borders of TRNC. The same procedure is valid for citizens of the Greek Cypriot side,'' it was noted.
Meanwhile goods worth of 50 Euros can be carried by persons without paying any tax during free passages.
