Anadolu Agency: 1/25/2004

DAVOS - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said, ''we will always be one step ahead of Greek Cypriot side about the Cyprus issue.''

In an interview with the CNN-Turk television channel, Prime Minister Erdogan said on Saturday, ''we want the two sides in the island to come together and reach a compromise. If a compromise is not reached, and if the Greek Cypriot side announces some formulations, we can welcome them. I believe that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will also welcome them.''

When asked, ''do you mean that if the Greek Cypriot side accepts the plan of United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, the TRNC will also accept it?'' Prime Minister Erdogan said, ''we will not stay behind of the Greek Cypriot side.''

Upon another question, Prime Minister Erdogan said that if the sides reached an agreement, a referendum could be held before May 1, 2004.

''We will always be one step ahead of Greek Cypriot side about the Cyprus issue. We told them that we were ready to assist them with good will. However, we will not accept any proposal that will lead to insolubility. President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and I will meet with President Rauf Denktas of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on Sunday. He sincerely wants to find a solution to the Cyprus issue. TRNC has been exposed to embargoes for forty years. It is totally unfair. It is also a violation of human rights,'' he added.

Our friend Tajip wants to forget WHY Turkey's puppet pseudostate has been "exposed" to embargoes "for forty years".
Truth is that the "embargoes" had to do with the illegacy of the Turkish invasion and the illegal creation by the force of arms of a pseudostate which, fairly enough is NOT recognized by ANY nation on the Planet.
Now, how can the WHOLE planet be wrong - and Tajip is...right - that's the fantasies which Tajip and the likes want to spread around as a desperated view which is just ashes on the eyes of the non-informed.
Human Rights is a term unknown to the Turkish world. But an useful one to use, when Turkey feels far back, behind Cyprus and Greece...

Do not play games with your citizens, Tajip...

Who is really a step behind

I cannot see what Mr Erogan means when he says that Turkey is always one step ahead since the cyprus problem has been in a political stagnation since the Turkish invasion.
The poeple who are truly a number of steps behind are the Turkish cypriots and their collapsing economy thanks to their leader Mr Denktash.
I have recently visited the occupied north of cyprus and have found another world compared to the south.
It is a shame the turkish cypriots are denied of a better life by their leaders.

That's quite explainable Poli.
Turks sees Cyprus a land for its own millitary interests - not as an island inhabited by TCs and GCs (no matter if they quote their "interest" about the Tc population...)

That is all about.

Turkey, was NEVER interested in warm for its own people - even Turks are disposable for the "shake" of the "divani".

Thats an old story that keeps on in Turkey of 2004

Alex, thankyou for being so honest. You are the first pro Greek I have come across who could not keep his/hers composure and , to express the real Greek feeling and hatred towards your neighbors.

And you guys say that we can live in peace together as one...as equals.

Yeah right !

Once again, you show the true colours of your unfortunate greekness and attitude. You fool !

Fact is that we can not live together in peace as proven over the last 50 years with the atrocities committed and breaches of human rights towards Turkish Cypriots by greeks.

We do not want to live with you for the simple fact that as a race you can not ever accept us as equals.

Sad part of it all is that Turkish Cypriots are prepared to treat you as eaquals and with respect, but unfortunately hellenic brainwashing does not allow you to think the same.

Stop kidding yourself, you need to help yourself before you can help others.

We do not want your trojan help !

Heeeyyy Bismillah !
