PRIME MINISTER SOYER SAYS THE WORLD HAS COME TO REALIZE THE REALITY OF THE TRNC

Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer has said that the international community has started realizing and understanding the reality of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Speaking to the Turkish TRT radio channel this morning, Mr Soyer stated that reality was better understood as a result of the Turkish Cypriot People’s intense and rightful struggle to for its existence to be recognized by the international community.

Evaluating the latest developments on the Cyprus issue, Prime Minister Soyer said that the Turkish Cypriot struggle to prove its existence to the world was consolidated by its positive response to the Annan Plan during the 2004 referenda.

Mr Soyer stated that the world now sees and accepts Turkish Cypriots as a people which works for a solution to the Cyprus problem, adding that what matters most is to continue the struggle aimed at achieving this goal.

The Prime Minister underlined the need for providing a solution to the Cyprus problem as soon as possible and thus challenging the Hellenistic opposition against Turkey within the European Parliament.

He added that Turkey’s position vis-à-vis its membership process will grow stronger once a solution is found to the Cyprus Problem.
