ALEMINYO MARTYRS WILL BE REMEMBERED TONIGHT WITH A CEREMONY AT THE DEGERMENLIK VILLAGER WHERE SURVIVORS OF ALEMINYO NOW LIVE
The Turkish Cypriot victims of the Aleminyo Massacre, a village in the Larnaca district, will be remembered tonight in the village of Degirmenlik where the survivors of Aleminyo now live.
Many of the residents of the village were rounded up and taken away by armed Greek Cypriots before being shot dead 33 years ago today.
The remembrance ceremony will be held at 7.30 pm.
Wreaths will be laid, a minute’s silence will be observed, and the flags will be raised to the national anthem.
