he he i know what you mean when i first heard that version of Music when the Lights Go out that's on the net. i have never seen the libertines live(considering i live in the US) and had gotten quite used to the way they sung the song on that NME interview thing, it was kinda wierd when i heard the song altogather, but i've come love it just the same, hmmm... i guess it takes time to get used to a song being played i different way, and i hope you come to like this more formal version of Don't Look Back into the Sun which will be released, sorry i think i've been rambling on, disregard this babble

I think the new version is great. I heard it properly on the radio yesturday and it sounded quite a bit better than the downloadable version most people have heard. the bitrate is a bit naff on that one :P

its a feel good, summery, non-cringy pop-song. The libs, so far in my opinion, are a top quality singles band. check their first 4 singles against say, the jam's, or madness', or oasis' - the libs are up there with the best of them. easlily.

I know what you mean, I prefer 'Don't Look Back Into The Sun 2' myself. Nice and simple. The single version sounds bit 'The Delaney', B side-ish styly...

I like the version on babyshambles session better. The new remix..even though it is all speeded up it somehow sounds a bit too hmm..'polished' - the same way that the version of 'I get along' played on Letterman sounded more polished / tame (reminded me of Weezer ..haha).

But Don't look back is still a great melody..don't think any remix could ever totally ruin it..must maybe listen to the radio version more often...have only playedit twice.

i know what you mean saying that it sounds more polished, the reason i got into this band was because their music was raw and not "produced" like so many records these days. i think Don't Look Back into the Sun is still a beautiful song but there is something very special about the babyshamles version that some how makes it hmmm... more heart-felt, (i guess that's what i'm tring to say) i can't wait for it to come out on the 5th, but for some reason i think i'll always love the babyshambles version, i don't know it's just sweeter

i guess the babyshambles version sounds better beacuse it is played on acoustic there.

I tried very hard not to think of the babyshambles version that I first fell in love with when I listened to the produced version, but it was difficult. After repeated listenings I think I've finally managed to overcome my first love and appreciate it separately as it is.
