A genius and enigma, Pete Doherty is the most fascinating star to emerge from the British music scene in years. Unlike the tabloid fodder who forget what made them famous as soon as they hit the headlines, Pete matches any stories about his private life with equally spectacular and creative bursts of songwriting.
Existing in a world outside the safe confines of the band/touring circuit, Pete lives in a place where anything can, and will, happen. Forming The Libertines, he drove the band beyond idle comparisons to The Strokes to produce the most significant London band since their mentor Mick Jones formed The Clash. Just when most would have played it safe and coined it in, Pete left the band in a storm of controversy that the band still haven't recovered from and embarked on a journey every bit as creative and controversial as the band he left, with an ever changing cast of musical accomplices.
With the windswept glory of his collaboration with Wolfman still fresh in the memory and more chart-hugging glory with Babyshambles ahead, Pete announces an incredible run of FOUR gigs on New Years Eve. Starting at Birmingham at 9pm and ending in Manchester at 2.30am, via Stoke , rumour has it that Pete will be flying between gigs by helicopter to provide a truly unique, truly Pete Doherty experience. No need to say any more , you know the tunes, you know the legend. The question is: do you want to see in the New Year at some rubbish overpriced disco, or do you want to spend it in the presence of a true icon? The choice is yours...
