While you are under the car you should be able to turn the steering shaft, just before the rag joint, and watch all the other joints move. You should be able to see the slack show up somewhere.

Try pushing and pulling on the wheels, top to bottom. This checks the wheel bearings.

That picture you sent shows most all the joints. Pitman arm, idler arm, L and R outer tie rod ends and L and R inner tie rod ends.
