Today I pulled my dash apart, Jimmy B, you made it sound so simple, don't plan on this exercise before church on Sunday. Took the centre consule along to a veteran auto electrician to test the alternator gauge, it worked fine under a decent load, checked all connections from the regulator to the gauge wiring cluster, everything OK, when I touched the live side of the gauge with my test light, it flicked so minutely you would never see from the drivers seat. Well at least its out of my system, now to re- assemble everything?? Also found the centre air vent broken off & the foam hanging down from it, so I will make up some new brackets, & refoam so all was'nt a wasted exercise.
