Dear Jaw, I can't think of enough words of praise for your report. . .

Response to A sneak into the Piece de Resistance of SIHH-2004, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Gyrotourbillon-I!

. . .and for this wonderful watch. I will be the first to admit that I have had a hard time warming up to the Master Compressor series but this new Gyrotourbillon is an absolute coup de maitre- easily, and I say this with no intention of diminishing Franck Muller's or Thomas Prescher's accomplishments, the most aesthetically pleasing multi-axis tourbillon I've ever seen. The addition of the retrograde date and power reserve displays, as well as the EOT, all add up to a harmonious and well integrated piece of horological sculpture that makes me want to take back every criticism I've ever breathed of the Master Compressor designs. There seems, at least on a first read through of your wonderful article, not a single mis-step in design or execution- for those fortunate enough to own one this watch will undoubtedly occupy a unique place of pride. Of course the rest of us must be content to admire it from afar but I hope at least one of these pieces makes its way to New York- I would make a special pilgrimage north of 42nd St. just to see it .

Thank you again Jaw, most sincerely- a spectacular premier, both from you and from Manufacture Jaeger LeCoultre.

Jack Forster
