Response to Is this the most under appreciated and under valued Reverso?

Second, I could not agree more with you on this. Infact, I rather think the rose gold series to be the high point of JLC watch making, and a spirit of continuity and innovation that it is finding hard to re-capture. I, for my part, have always admired this series. Interesting to note that the repeater was one of the first pieces to be designed by Eric Coudray (of gyrotourbillon fame) and during the visit to MJLC last October, in the complications workshop, I was lucky to hear and witness an open backed Reverso repeater (why they did not do this for the production model is beyond me) and it shows the true innovative nature of MJLC in the design and production of a rectangular repeating movement and gong. These days, for some reason, MJLC wants to produce the loudest, longest winding, over sized hockey puck of a repeater. What happened to elegance and refinement? As a company they are capable of so much more and it saddens me.

I too have pontificated on some of these issues before:

and with the Reverso 70 series stalled, and with the 75th 'birthday' of the Reverso just around the corner, you have to hope that MJLC can once again find its innovative horological mind set, instead of chasing the 'fashionable' end of the market.

A wonderful watch and congratulations. For all of us that own one of the rose gold series, and enjoy the pieces for what they are, let us be thankful that the market thinks otherwise.

Beautiful watch
