Response to Great review Evitzee,

Hi Frank,

Loved the review as well as the photos. I believe this to be one of the most interesting Reversos. Elegant and well articulated, it certainly stands out from most other models. The chronograph dial is truly a work of art, a feast for the eyes. With only the 30 and 60 minute subdials of the chrono remaining, leaves a rather clear view of the movement, column wheel, escapement, bridges and plates. The different materials and colors; silver subdials, blued screws, gold bridges, and silvered levers, comprise a most impressive pallet of color, texture, and shapes. I would welcome the edition of this piece to my collection, with one caveat.

The caveat being the size. My collecting started 25 years ago, with primarily vintage pieces. At that time, with the exception with a couple contemporary pieces, my vintage pieces were all under 35 mm, and I wore them all....frequently. Now 25 years later, I still own all my vintage pieces, yet never wear them. I still handle and admire them, but they no longer look appropriate on the wrist, at least in my eyes. I have many times attempted to purchase the JLC Reverso Sun Moon in PG, love the watch in the case and in my hand, however on the wrist it just appears a bit to small. Having tried many times to purchase it, I realized that no matter how much I admired it, it would take its place along with those vintage pieces, admired ... but not worn. While I like the case size of the XGT, I fell it a bit to thick. I would love to see the XGT case with thinness of your Chrono, IMO a perfect compromise. Please do not take this as a criticism for your stunning LE Reverso, but rather despite my admiration for it, I think it would just be a difficult fit for me. I must say however, it does look quite nice on your wrist.

While I am aware that you have a soft spot for such pieces with a more diminutive nature, I know that we both share a passion for the antithesis of these as well. Such as the Roger Dubuis' Easy Diver Chrono, and the Much More Monopusher, part of both our collections. I do believe these are examples that remarkable execution can be accomplished in watches greater than 36 mm. While I do have some contemporary Pateks which are 36 mm and 37 mm, I find I can only wear these with a suit as they otherwise appear a bit too small. My preference happens to range from 38 mm to the largest 46 mm (Easy Diver Chrono), and I enjoy each as much as the next.

The point of my remarks above is that depending on one's taste and preferences; case and movement size alone should not be a benchmark for quality and accomplishment.

That said, the more I look at your wonderful photos, I could easily be persuaded to acquire one. So don't be surprised if I should one day post a similar review to yours.

Continued enjoyment with this wonderful timepiece.

All the best.
