... made by other Swiss manufacturers (mostly A. Schlid - but there were others).

These were made to compete with other Swiss generics and Seiko, in the late 1960's to early 1970's, just prior to the quartz revolution.

Not a bad watch, but not comparable to in-house JLC movements either. Some of the case designs are stylish in a 1970's sort-of way and you can find the occasional 18K case, as well.
