This majestic building in the Neo-Palladian style, was constructed in 1827 and housed the parliament of Singapore until a new building was completed on an adjacent plot of land in 1999.

On 11 November, Jaeger-LeCoultre and The HourGlass organised an event to launch the new Master Tourbillon Tour in Singapore. Held at the historic Old Parliament House, the event was a resounding success. Not only was the new Master Tourbillon showcased for the first time, there was also a series of talks by noted industry personalities, including Stephane Belmont, JLC Product Development director, who flew into Singapore for this event.

The event began early, at 9am, on a Saturday morning, but guests were punctual and eager for it to begin. A breakfast spread, and most importantly, coffee, was waiting for the participants.

JLC set up a watchmaker's bench for guests to try for themselves the complex art of watchmaking

The chamber of the Old Parliament House

After breakfast, guests were invited into the chamber of the parliament. Independence and other lesser matters were once debated in this hall, but on that Saturday morning, the weighty issue of tourbillons and watch collecting were discussed furiously.

Hi SJX,

Thanks a lot for your report.

Great job and nice pictures. This was seemingly a nice event.

This tourbillon is really amazing. JLC has achieved a watch not many people understand the real step it is IMO.

We will see more of this soon.

Cheers

The watch is beautiful, the detail on the dial and the tourbillon window are captured superbly in the photographs.
Wish I could have been there, maybe one day JLC will come to me, in the meantime I can enjoy from my computer.
Cheers
