Slurring 'speaker' fined

A MAN who drunkenly insisted he was the speaker of the Papua New Guinea parliament has been fined.
In Cairns Magistrates Court yesterday, Michael Ray Kupe pleading guilty to being drunk and disorderly at Gilligans nightclub on September 6.
He was arrested after becoming belligerent and aggressive to police after he tried to put his hand on a female officer.
He was fined $75.

Most North Queenslanders don't give a damn who you are or were in PNG. Even if he was the Speaker he would still have been arrested - and should have been fined a lot more than $75.
