How long does it take to find a job???

It's been four (4) months since I left PNG to settle in Oz. While in PNG I was working as a Senior Administraton Officer, I have been hunting for a job down here but have not received any positive feedback. I am starting to wonder if I will be given a chance in the near future.
Can anyone tell me how long it took for them to find a job.

Thanks, only genuine reply please.

Hi Susa,

Where there seems to be no way. God will still make a way for you.

really depends on the job market....ie wether there is plenty of work or not. You are in a very competitive field so keep on trying and even look into other types of work to make your chances of getting higher. Good luck!

Indeed it is very competitive to get that kind of Admin jobs especially in the main towns or cities, most of them are filled quickly and those in those position stick around as it suits their life style etc.

Keep trying or like one of the other wantok suggested, try some short courses and additional skill set training.

If you are living with your spouse on a dependent visa or have your own PR/work visa then you should also fare well, otherwise most employers will not offer you a job even when you are well qualified.

Take any job to start with - coles, woolworths - earn some money and then do a few courses along the way.
