It's very interesting reading about how everyone is getting from here to there (from one length to another)...it's like being on a trip to a certain destination and seeing the varied routes different people take in order to arrive at the same place. What an adventure!
Some are jetting full speed ahead toward their destination, some are taking the train, others are taking the highway with the least amounts of stops possible, some are taking the scenic route, others are taking the slow boat.
It seems as though people's chosen routes are dependant upon what kind/type of hair they have. So where I'm more like Skeeter and my hair is straight and not terribly thick and I cannot hide any damage easily which makes frequent trims (at least every 3 months) necessary
for myself, there are those with thicker hair or different hair type and texture that does very well for several months or years with fewer trims or without without trimming at all and it's full speed ahead for the most part for them.
Also and like Avrilon, I'm into balance and overall look regarding my hair.
Again, that's just me and may or may not be right for you. Remember, there are no right or wrong answers, only personal opinions and preferences that vary with each individual...which makes everybody right for themselves and their own unique hair situation. To me, my hair length seems to look best if I divide my body into thirds and get the best hair length for myself in that way. I'm 5'7" tall, and 1/3rd on me is almost at waist and between classic length and knees. Since I know that my hair is not thick enough to carry a length between classic and knees, I'll go with almost waist, which is why my goal is 27" (my waist being at 30"). It's possible after maintaing at that length for a while that I'd then grow a little beyond waist, but I'll see when I get there and, as Fox says, what my hair is telling me at that point. So that's me, but everyone is different and has different reasons and passions for growing her/his hair, has different lengths in mind for themselves and for their own reasons and types of hair. And there's definitely nothing wrong with that - because ultimately we are all captains of our own ship (since peole's religions are all not the same, I'm not going to touch on religion here, so fill in for yourself your own personal "captain") and free to do whatever we want to do regarding our own hair regardless of what anyone else has to say on the matter.
Thanks so much for participating in this poll, and if you haven't read everyone else's responses, please take some time to do so since all the different responses are quite interesting.
Thanks again!
Hugs,
Olympia
