Hello everyone.
Coming out of lurk mode briefly while I am someplace that has internet access. Since many of you here have spoken so highly of Aubrey's Primrose Tangle-Go spray I decided to give it a try for lack of anything else to help with my tangled hair. Well, I only used it once so far, but did spray enough to dampen the bottom half of my length. My main complaint is not how it works, but how it smells. It's been 48+ hours and my hair STILL smells like the spray. Way too strong perfumey/ floral scent that I really can't stand at all. I was hoping it would fade, but it hasn't. Anyone else encounter this? If I can't find a way to alleviate the overpowering scent then I won't give it another try.
I was looking at the ingredients, and wondering if I couldn't conjure something similar on my own with distilled water, vegetable glycerin, liquid lanolin, panthenol, EOs, aloe juice, a lighter oil, etc. Ideas? I am not even sure how easy the glycerin or panthenol would be to obtain.
Also, I am having troubles editing and shrinking the file size of a newer picture to change in my signature, if someone could email me privately please? Just remember that I don't have internet at home so it may be a while before I respond, though it should be within a week. blushing_viking(at) yahoo(dot)com is the one I check most often.
Thanks!
Bryndis

Past few months have been experimenting again. I "wash" on an as-needed basis, usually every 5-9 days. I make up a mixture similar to Willow's, with beer, egg yolk, and 2-4 essential oils. I am still hesitant to give up my conditioner because I feel it helps with tangles, but we'll see.
Coconut oil as needed.
Moisture spritz as needed (aloe juice, water, rosemary & ylang-ylang e.o.'s for scent)
Horn comb and HairSense "bone" comb.
Been months without using a brush (wooden, from Earth Theraputics)
Will update this as I go! (last updated January 2008)
