Start by trimming your ends. Then as your hair grows trim off only half of what it grows. If it grows 1 inch every 2 months then trim 1/2 inch every 2 months. That way you can have some length and still get rid of the splits. There is no other way to get rid of them except to trim.
There is also a process called dusting. You search through the hair and cut each split end off. It is easier to do on long hair since you have to bring your hair around to the front.
Taking care of your hair is the best thing you can do for it now. Keep up the good work and happy growing.
