with aloe vera gel but when I washed I was so nervous that it wouldn't clean properly that I used a shampoo bar afterwards but only did one lather instead of two as I usually do. My hair did seem extra shiny and bouncy so it may have worked.
I think a lot of my sensitivities have settled down since I switched to a lot of natural or homemade products. However, now I find that I'm far more sensitive to the scent of products that others use. They seem to be so overpowering and fake.
Have you considered soap nuts? I use them to wash our clothes and I know that has greatly contributed to less skin issues. You can make a lotion out of them to wash your hair with or you may even be able to buy a ready-made shampoo. I know that the place that I purchase my soap nuts from provide a chemical-free version in liquid form that can be used as soap or shampoo. I tried it once as shampoo and my hair was awful but if I had no other choice I would play around with it to see if I could get it to work.Progress from June 2006 - January 2011

'Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfailing beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.' 1 Peter 3:3-4
