Hi, this is SerenaRose, I used to post a lot about 3 years ago but I have been so busy lately! Life is good I couldn't get back into my old account so I made a new one.
I'm looking for optimal hair growth, so what vitamin combinations are the best for quick growth? Also do the ones they sell labeled for hair growth worth it?
I'm also looking for really good deep cleansers. I would like to do clarifying treatments on my hair once in a while, so which shampoos are best for deep once in a while treatments?
Thanks for the feedback, hope everyone is doing well, I will post more later! @--->---
I have been taking hair vitamins from Prairie Naturals. My hair seems to be growing quite well, but I couldn't say if it is directly because of them. I also read that getting enough protein is important for hair growth, and have added a protein shake to my breakfast.

Hair dark brown getting greys, has been coloured and bleached. Now just using henna, but still have old colour and damage to get rid of.
CO with Prairie Naturals Indian Summer conditioner, plus whatever leftovers I'm using up.
ACV rinse.
Leave in oils jojoba, coconut, avocado.
I wouldn't necessarily buy the ones that cost a fortune, but hair formulated vitamins usually have hair specific nutrients that are good for hair. Some of those include Biotin, many B vitamins, amino acids, etc.
You can clarify your hair with your regular shampoo and a quarter size amount of baking soda. Just remember to really condition well after this, leaving the conditioner on for 30-60 minutes, preferably with a heating cap on for part of that time. If you want just a out of the bottle clarifier, one I've enjoyed before is from Kenra. I forget the exact name, but it used Grapefruit in it. It did work nicely.
Welcome back! I remember you and I'm glad you are back on board!

VS 1000mg Flaxseed Oil (2)
PP 500mg Garlic (out of)
If I feel I need a bit extra I'll take one GNC UltraNourishair. I think it's a great vitamin targeted for hair. You could also add in a protein drink.
Dont forget to drink plenty of water, eat healthy, and exercise.
The vitamins I use are:
Natures Bounty Hair, Skin and Nails: This has 3000mcg of Biotin in it.
Flaxseed Oil
Vitamin E
Calcium
I also have a protein shake for breakfast and a protein bar in the afternoon as my snack.
I use baking soda as a clarifier as Fox has stated. I find that it does a fantastic job and is inexpensive too!
Hope this helps!

Hi everyone, I really missed this board and am so glad to have time to post
I bought Nature's Bounty vitamins "Hair, Skin, and Nails" today from walgreens and it's chock full of the right vitamins: all the B vitamins, lots of biotin, even some ribonucleic acid, also some horsetail extract which I read on the net was good for hair. Here's hoping that it gets me some good growth, I've never consistently stayed on vitamins and never for hair
I'm going to try the baking soda clarifyer tonight. As far as my hair the last few years, it's been doing really well. I've grown out to about hip level and with frequent trims it's pretty thick even down to the ends! My natural color of chestnut brown has grown out to my shoulders fro when I last henna'ed it May of 2005 and I'm loving having that color back
As for my life, I've been so busy! I think I posted once or twice after I got married but I started working a lot and my hours were irregular, and we didn't have the net at our new apartment until 4 months ago. I start back to my community college this Monday going to school 3 days a week for the 12 week summer classes and I petitioned to start a 2 year veterinary technology program which will get me ready to take a national exam and become registered. The best I can explain registered vet techs is that it's the same as registered nurses, only the schooling is shorter. There are programs out there to become veterinary assistants in 9 months at Apollo and Pima but those do not get you registered. Being registered means I will be able to perform by myself in some areas without the supervision of a veterinarian and I will be nationally certified to work anywhere and will have the ability to work at zoos and wildlife rescues which are requiring registered techs. I have worked as a veterinary assistant for 2 years and the laws are changing and requiring vets to have registred techs employed. I am so excited for the program and I really hope I get in and start the program in the fall. They only accept 24 students each year and all of your prayers for me to get into the program to learn more and continue to do what I love is very appreciated
Needless to say I've been busy and I think my lack of time to deal with my hair has benefited it I wear it up in a coiled scrunchie bun everyday and don't fuss about it, l.o.l.
I remenber you of course! Wow, you have been busy. Good luck on your schooling! Hope to see you on here, when time permits for you.
