I need some suggestions

Someone posted here a while back about a brand of BBB that they really liked, but that was not as expensive as a MP BBB. I'm looking for a small one to try adding to my routine for a bit. I'd rather not use my comb all the time as it's not particularly necessary if I just want to smooth out my hair a bit.

Also, wasn't there a post to a link about the 'right' way to brush your hair? If anyone remembers that, could you post it here?

Not sure..

about the other brand of BBB, but personally I just use a small one that I bought at wal-mart. It is probably not as good as the super expensive ones, but I have found it to be quite effective. Hope you can find what you're looking for!

Happy Growing!

I bought mine

at our local pharmacy/drugstore. I have two and they're both stamped 'Mita'. They were under $20 each. Just make sure that the one you buy is 100% natural boar bristle and also that it's not labelled for fine hair or baby hair (I had to turn the brush over and read the small print on the price label - it wasn't clear from other information given). I made that mistake once and it was useless. Just wouldn't go through my hair. My granddaughter gained a lovely brush though!

Progress from June 2006 - October 2008

2a/M/ii
Mid-Dark brown with natural red and silver highights; fringe/bangs.
Starting length 25"/62.5cm
Current length 36"/90cm (Original goal and was reached July 2009)
New Goal 44"/112cm

Current routine: (Trying to keep it as simple as possible): WC on the weekend; scalp washes every second day; oiling 2-3 nights per week; S&D when I think of it; and dusting every 8-12 weeks.

Shampoo: Organic Instincts diluted with herbal tea (rosemary and chamomile).
Conditioners: A'Kin Protein or Moisturising Conditioner mixed with honey (1 tablespoon of each).
Oils: Favourite is almond oil. Occasionally will use a blend of coconut, almond, olive in the ratio 2:1:1 in summer or as a deep oiling treatment.
Other: ACV infused with herbs (depending upon availability I use a selection of lavender, rosemary, cinnamon, sage, and thyme); BBB; wooden comb; Mason Pearson comb; Logona herbal henna.

I sue a Kent

I think it's a British make and is stamped as being founded in 1777 so they are established. Mine was about £10 I think.

I find that the best way to use it is to thoroughly detangle with my wooden comb first and then to brush through with my head up, comb again, tip my head upside down and brish, comb again and them brush one las time with my head up. The combing inbetween stops the brush tangling.

I did see an MP clone in Target...

July 6 2009, 3:47 PM

I don't think it was too expensive and might be something worth checking out, even though you don't like store shopping. happy.gif They were not in the regular brush section, but in the make up section I think...I can't remember her name, but she makes make up and perfumes too and they are featured at Target.
