It's been months... and months!

Hello to everyone, I see some newbies! And always good to see familiar faces, well... back of the heads of loyal loomies.

It was a difficult winter for me because of the on going divorce, yeesh! Any little bit of stress and I shed, so you can imagine. Gratefully it was not a bitter one, just horribly sad for me. But I do have an update picture to share and pleased that in spite of the ongoing shed, I have bulk. Hanging in there.

[linked image]

My freshly trimmed ends. I trim by the moon, as some of you know, and I could not resist the huge moon on May 5th! It was so beautiful coming up behind the pines. So trim I did. Took it back to just under 30 inches, not by much though. And I am back to spring and autumn trims. Beltane and Samhain. I have a bit of Celtic blood in me. I plan to keep it growing to my bums and with an inch off each year I should still gain my five inches. All this dusting now and then that I've been doing, much too often, keeps me short! Has been helpful though.

I am packing. It has been so difficult to do, but I am in the middle of it all. My daughter and I will be moving back to our old house. She is so happy to be moving back because she loves the house! I am but I'm not, because I love my mountains!

I will check in as I can!

**eta** Somehow I lost my photo.

Oh Lacemitts...

May 28 2012, 12:29 PM

My goodness you have a fantastic growth rate, and since the big cut your hair has grown back so full! So I am a believer that once in awhile a good hefty cut will help! I know someone else who just had a seven inch cut and then some... can't say who, she is the bearer of her own news, but I must say I am surprised at it. Yet, when I see the results, such as your own Lace, it always helps me to know it is a good thing, it's not even a set back. It's a fresh start!

May 28 2012, 5:21 PM

Oh, I'm so happy to see you! Welcome back happy.gif I'm glad that you have found time for us, given the fact that the reason of your absence is a sad and stressful one. You are going through a lot, and I can at least send you a hug or two [linked image] [linked image] and include you in my prayers. They say that wounds heal in time, and I hope that time for you will be a short one.
But I'm mightily pleased that all the stress hasn't taken a toll on your hair, judging from the picture. It looks gorgeous! The hemline is so full and thick, and you most certainly have bulk. If that's the result of trimming by the moon, I should subscribe to it!

As I've already repeated a dozen times, I'm so glad you checked in happy.gif I hope the move goes well and that you stop by as much as you can.

It's going as smooth as one can go, but from day one I have disagreed with my hubby's wanting one. He did get sort of onry and made it easier for me to let go, but I still believe in our faith we could have been healed and returned to the beginning, which was sweet.

Hi Ohtawen!.

May 28 2012, 9:22 PM

Thank you for your most thoughtful words. It's time to recreate my life as best as I can. For some dern reason I have had one stumble of sorts after another. The most difficult part, as this chapter closes in my life, is the move from the mountains I love so much. It breaks my heart. I believe I will be able to come back after a season, but for now my daughter is so happy to get back to our old house. Her childhood home. This has helped me accept the direction I'm given.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!

why you feel the way you feel about the move. I empathize... It's truly not easy for you at the moment, but I am sure that you, being the strong lady you are, will brave all the hardships remarkably. After all, the Lord doesn't give hardships to people who won't be able to cope with them. So stand strong, Elvea, and take care of yourself and your daughter [linked image]

I cannot believe

May 29 2012, 6:24 PM

the gorgeousness of your hair compared to the "old" picture!!!  How, please tell, did you ever get your hair to thicken up so much and look so gorgeous?  You are truly an inspiration.  Sorry to hear about your divorce, I have many friends who have gone through that and it is never pleasant no matter how cordial.  All the best to you.  The good news is you are rocking some really great looking hair right now!

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement! I have peeked over at your blog and I love reading about your peaceful home, the kids, the way you teach. Very unique. Very beautiful.

Ah.. thank you Mermayd. Well...

May 30 2012, 12:16 AM

We're looking at about a year and a half in time passing from my siggie pic to the present one. Lots of trims to maintain and... I am wondering too how this happened! I hadn't been shedding for awhile, so that helped! After my husband broke his neck everything changed and life became very much a challenge. But even more so after he decided to do this divorce thing, so since about Marchish, I have had quite the shed going on. Like the olden days. So I decided to take a picture after this last trim just in case.

I'm not worried though, I know the source, it's the stress and I am working on that. He finally moved out so there is more peace, he got really ugly there for a bit. I think the fall damaged him in some ways. Really, the most difficult part for me is leaving these beautiful mountains. It's heart crushing for me. And I'm exhausted in a way I have never experienced before.

I trust that there is a reason for the direction I have to take, but it's tough for me to grasp it.

Well, sorry I babbled on.

I will say I think my Mini Star extra wide tooth comb has been a benefactor, since I began using it about a year ago now. I use it to comb out my wet hair and it separates my strands into little ropes without tugging or pulling. I never pull/rip through my hair anyways, but I have noticed that with my other comb I lose more strands. And the TT, just on my scalp, I started to use at the same time. I always use Organix TheraNeem shampoo/conditioner when I start to shed and it helps! Oh, and for a bit of time, quite a few months, I was patting the pure aloe vera juice (the kind you can drink) on my scalp before I washed. I'm a bit allergic to it I found out, but I was doing that for awhile.

I think those three/four items have been helpful.

Thank you Mermayd for your kind words.

I am glad that

June 3 2012, 8:42 PM

you are more at peace now. I hope it continues for you. I can only imagine how exhausted you must feel. If it makes you feel any better, a friend of mine was just devastated when her marriage fell apart, she hadn't worked since her children were born (then in high school) and was frightened and angry. In the end, she kept her house, got an education and a great career and is now traveling to foreign countries on her vacations. She is happy. I wish the same for you.

Thanks for telling me about your hair. I believe that stress and hormones are affecting my hair thinning and am hoping it, too will come back. Your hair gives me hope.

I sort of overdid my posting in response to Mermayd, so I won't add anymore here, but I do appreciate your kind words. And I keep getting interrupted by my daughter, so I have been "online" a long time! Even though I haven't been at the keyboard a long time.

But thank you!

so sorry to hear what you are going through- I am praying for you and your family.

Your new photo-your hair looks both longer and thicker than what I ever recall seeing-way to grow!!!

I believe trimming by the moon really works, I am going to try to stay more faithful to that myself.

I've heard people say garlic shampoo can help shedding?? Never tried it myself.

Take care!

Hi Babyfine!

June 23 2012, 8:40 PM

Yes! I think I agree with you happy.gif My whole outlook changed and I do believe it reflected in good health and a healthy head of hair. I have had a stress-shed since so I am glad I took a picture.

My life will settle down after the move and depression, I just can not get motivated to pack and fix things anymore. Feeling very alone. I will wait until my week off from work then finish the moving project, this will be the first week in July. It will be good to get past this time in my life. Feels like a difficult birth, much labor pains but no baby!

Good to hear from you!

Hi Elvea!

May 30 2012, 12:07 PM

I too have been wondering where the heck you were!
So glad that you checked in! I'm sorry to hear about the trying times going on right now, but I know that you will be re-born...you are just like that. Divorces can be hard. I am divorced as well....he was a really good guy, just not the guy for me. I am happier without him that I was with him, and I think he is doing much better to not have to put up with me too... happy.gif

Things will get better, it just takes a little time. On the bright side, your hair looks absolutely amazing! Your hemline is so thick now! As always, I an envious of your color....

Take care of you, and stop by often! We'll be here to cheer you up! happy.gif

I am a newbie and I love it here. I am sorry to hear of your divorce. I am newly single as well. I am sorry but I feel better, freer maybe. Your hair is beautiful. I too trim by the moon. I have some Irish/Scottish blood on my mama's side. Have a blessed day.

Yes, I love celestial happenings! I even went in on June 5 to sign my divorce papers because it was the transit of Venus that evening... it was on the spur of the moment for me, but then this is how I am. Very spontaneous, never plan things out too much. I thought that would be a good time to do so since I am in a transitional time in my life as well.

The first time I had to really prepare myself to go in, since I hurt I had to muster up the bravery. When I finally did step through the doors the lawyer was upset with me because of an email my hubby had sent to him. His assistant made several mistakes during this process, so hubby was upset because of the delay it caused. Well, the lawyer took it out on me because he didn't like the tone in my hubby's email. His assistant was in the wrong, but I got the brunt of it all. I sort of crumbled right there in his office. I wasn't sure why I did until I was thinking about it later and I realized it was because hubby always defended a friend of his who meddled in our marriage for quite a few years. He would always defend her, blind to what she was doing to us, to me. But bless my hubby, he wasn't happy to hear of the lawyer's "upsetness" towards me because he even admitted I have been through enough with this divorce and his friend over the years. Now I am embarrassed, because in my befuddlement I told the lawyer he should direct his "upsetness" to my hubby, because he is the one upset...

Just a simpleton, I am. So I had left without signing that day, and I didn't want to go back because of it.

Good thing for celestial happenings! ...or papers still would not be signed.

My hopeful goal is ~
Tresses to my hips and mock faerie-tale endings
... or the real ones someday...

My hair does well with Sweet Almond Oil for everyday oiling,
it's blended with Rose Geranium and Rosemary.
EVOO for deeper treatments.
Every so often I soak my tresses before I wash with a diluted batch
of Napa Valley Oak Aged Organic White Wine Vinegar.
Love Alba's Acai shampoo and conditioner.
