but if you want to take photos of eally small things like 1/700 scale ships, you can add a close-up lenses to the end of the camera's lens. Look for 58mm close up lenses if you do (according to DPreview's website, they list the lens thread at 58mm)

I used a 2MP Olympus C2100UZ for many years that had similar specifications and I was very happy with it.
