Hello Everybody

I've noticed I get blue tone to some of my pictures.
Is this caused by the camera or software? (Kodak C643)
The lighter tone is more inline with the true colors.

Is the camera's White Balance seting on Automatic?

September 7 2008, 3:18 PM

If it is, that's probably why. I know that when I do that with my Olympus C2100UZ, it comes out with all sorts of different color shifts and casts. This is usually from a strong colored background that confuses the WB software.

Try setting the White balance to match the type of light you are using and see if that makes a difference.

Hope this helps,
Val

Thanks for the reply.
Yes the white balance is set to
tungsten not auto. I use two of those
GE Reveal lights.

The GE Reveal lights take out the yellowish tinge...

September 8 2008, 9:43 AM

and the tungsten setting on your camera is trying to do the same thing, hence the extra blue. (I had to search for information on the GE Reveal lights)

May I suggest taking a series of photos using different WB settings? You may find that Daylight works best. I use an Ott-Light Daylight balanced flourescent light for all my photography now and I set the camera to Daylight. THis gives the truest color as seen by the old Mk-40 Eyeball. Goodness I hope I'm not colorblind!

Hope this helps.

Aloha,
Val

Thanks Val, that makes sense and very well
could be the problem. I'll look for the Ott lights
you mentioned and take those test shots too.

Thanks My Friend
