Hi all,
I've been experimenting with some of these new fangled low energy, save-the-planet type daylight bulbs for photography (the type you find in a craft store) and comparing them to my older daylight bulbs. Here's a couple of pics just to gauge opinion;

This is with my older bulbs (Camera set at 100ASA, AWB);



And now with the new bulbs (Camera set at 100ASA, AWB);



Finally with the new bulb but camera at 100ASA, daylight setting;



My camera is a Canon 300D btw but looking to replace it with the 450D in the new year.

The photo looks pretty much as my eyes see it.

Hi Val,
I must admit that is the setting I'm leaning towards too. The difference between the old and new daylight bulbs is really striking. I blew one of the new bulbs while modelling the other day and had to use an old daylight bulb. The difference is VERY noticable between them.
