Dear all
this is slightly off-topic but a number of us took part in a 'shamanic workshops' thread earlier so...
I will be running a 'shamanic dreaming for the 21st Century' workshop in Newmarket in the spring.
Dates: 30th April - 2nd May (to run over Beltaine)
Venue: The Old Stable House Centre, Newmarket
Cost: £120, including self-catering accommodation
who's welcome?: Anyone over 18 years old who's not taking mind-altering pharmacaeticals, prescription, recreational or otherwise. Tea, coffee, alcohol and nicotine are OK (actually, they're not, but if I tried to exclude anyone who was taking them, we'd have no workshop) but if you could minimise prior to the w/sh, that would be good.
What it is:
This grew from questions arising after publication of the novel 'Dreaming the Eagle' and sequels (Dreaming the Bull will be out in Feb 2004) and is in direct response to email and live questions, particularly at Libertas in York in November.
I will address the nature of dreaming as practised in indigenous cultures and the ways in which we can incorporate it as a spiritual practise in our culture and society. We will experience 2 of the 3 aspects of shamanic dreaming ( guided night-dreaming and shamanic journeying) and learn how they can be used to provide contact with other realities and as a reliable means by which to ask for help.
We will learn the necessary methods of grounding, centering and self-protection and the means by which we can practise dreaming safely in isolation and in groups.
We will learn aspects of medicine wheel teachings and how they, and the Mayan 20-count, can provide a framework for living in the 21st century.
anyone interested, mail me. There are 6 places left.
